From Argentina to Abruzzo to learn about their Italian ancestors

“We traveled from Mar del Plata to the time of Tornareccio, with a stopover in Rome and then took the bus from the station to Lanciano. There Ciro was waiting for us, a cab that would take us to our destination. Everything was organized down to the smallest detail. They helped me plan the trip and it was an exhilarating experience. They made me feel at home and I can’t wait to come back. With this genealogical research trip, I fulfilled my grandfather’s wish that, before he died, he would have liked to return in Abruzzo, to his land, to his place, from which he was forced to flee at the age of 5, escaping the war by ship, in search of a new home.”

Tornareccio: a magical place waiting to be discovered

“Visiting Tornareccio with my mother and brother was an incredible experience, one of the most beautiful we have had as a family. Getting to know our roots and the place where my grandfather was born was definitely a memory we will never forget. That very beautiful place to which he was never able to return, but which existed for us through his stories when my brother and I were very young and which, from today, will be linked to this exciting experience that we were able to have in person. Tornareccio is a magical, indescribable place with beautiful mountains and landscapes. I will carry with me the indelible memory of those days spent in visit Tornareccio and Abruzzo-we will return soon to strengthen the bond with our homeland.”
